I believe we are all born with innate wisdom from the body, yet most of us have had moments where the demands of life circumstances, work, or relationships overwhelm this wisdom. Or perhaps repetitive, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors take control without warning or cause, wreaking havoc in our lives. In either case, this disconnection between mind and body may grow, and soon, the telltale signs of dysfunction develop: eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, depression, and difficulty in romantic and family relationships, to name a few.
The good news is, there is a path forward if you're ready. My goal as a therapist is to help you non-judgmentally notice the patterns that keep you stuck and foster self-compassion for the reasons they developed. With this comes a renewed trust and respect in your body's intuition and increased personal choice to get you back to living your life. My approach is compassionate while direct, with plenty of space for good-natured humor. I believe that while there are powerful external forces that shape our circumstances, we all have agency to improve our experiences. Working together to foster curiosity and empathy, you can learn positive coping skills, strengthen your relationships and connections to your communities, and grow individually in ways that feel authentically you.
While my passion is in the mind-body connection, I am strongly committed to accurate diagnosis and treating clients within best practices for their specific clinical concerns. I have training and experience in evidence-based treatments for OCD, eating disorders and behavioral issues in youth 12+ using cognitive- and behavioral-interventions like ERP, CBT, DBT skills and Motivational Interviewing. These 'top-down' treatments can stand alone to resolve symptoms, or can be integrated into a longer-term approach to transition to more somatic and exploratory therapy.
I practice in both English and Spanish, as well as through interpreters as resources are available, and have a passion in working with clients through a culturally responsive framework to adapt care to meet preferences and needs that stem from each individual's language and culture.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri. I received my Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont. My clinical experience began in treating trauma, grief and relationship issues with individuals and couples at an outpatient immigrant mental health clinic. Prior to starting in private practice, I treated eating disorders, youth behavioral issues and OCD with adults, youth/families and groups in residential, PHP and IOP levels of care at an eating disorder treatment center.
I am also a Certified Medical Interpreter in Spanish through the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters. Please note that I do not provide interpretation services at this time and am unable to serve as an interpreter for therapy clients.
In my free time, I can be found spending time with friends and family, savoring my mediocre tennis skills, reading too many books at once, and trying out new recipes.
